Prof. Waleed Deeb

Professor Deeb is the founding President  of The Arab American University in Jenin (AAUJ) , Palestine ( Now AAUP). He served as the president of the university  from September 2000 until April 2005. The Arab American University  is the first private university in Palestine.

He is serving now as the academic advisor  of the board of directors of AAUP.

Prior to that, Professor Deeb  helped establish Jordan University for Women in 1991, the first university for women in Jordan.

Prof. Deeb served on the board of the Palestinian Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) for several years and the Palestinian Council of Higher Education as well as a Board of Trustees member of several universities Palestine. He also served as the president of Emirates College of Management in Abu Dhabi and MENA college of Management in Dubai.

He is an expert on Higher Education and served as consultant for quality management and for accreditation in  several universities in the Middle East.

Professor Deeb started his career as Professor of Mathematics in several Universities in different countries: University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, State University of New York at Albany; USA, University of Jordan, Amman Jordan, University of Kuwait, Kuwait, and University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

He received several awards and published many articles in mathematics and Critical Thinking.

Professor Deeb received his Ph.D in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Albany.
